      Moriz Jung

Moriz Jung (1885-1915) was an Austrian graphic artist and illustrator, noted for his contributions to early 20th-century European art, particularly within the realms of Art Nouveau and Secessionist movements. Born in Reichenberg, Bohemia (now Liberec, Czech Republic), Jung was recognized for his distinct and vibrant illustrations that combined whimsy with sharp social commentary. His work spanned various mediums including posters, postcards, and book illustrations, featuring a lively interplay of bold colors and stylized forms. Tragically, his promising career was cut short when he died in battle during World War I, leaving behind a relatively small but impactful body of work that reflects the dynamic art scene of pre-war Vienna.
