Vincent Van Gogh
Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) was a Dutch post-impressionist painter whose work notable for its beauty, emotion, and color made a far-reaching influence on 20th-century art. Despite suffering from mental illness and remaining largely unappreciated during his lifetime, Van Gogh produced over 2,100 artworks, including around 860 oil paintings, in just over a decade. His most famous works include "Starry Night," "Sunflowers," and various self-portraits. Van Gogh's technique of painting with bold, swirling brushstrokes, a vivid color palette, and expressive emotion has endeared him to a global audience, making him one of the most famous and influential figures in Western art.
